To many, the future is an abstract concept. Something that doesn’t exist until we step into it. But, we learn from the Bible that the things we see are made from the things we don’t see. In the book of Genesis 13:15, God told Abraham that he would possess as far as he could see. If Abraham would see just to his nose then that was the area he was going to possess. It then implied that Abraham was required to see not just with his eyes but also with his mind. We can literally attract the kind of future we want by creating it in our mind. The key, therefore, is to see it in your mind, create the future you want in your mind and it will show up in your life. The question we must answer is , what do you see ?
When you look at your life 5, 10, 15 years from now, what do you see. What vision do you have for your life? Where do you see yourself at the end of your four years in the university? What does your career look like in the next 10 years? What kind of family will you have? CAN YOU SEE IT?
Please set aside a minute or two to look into the future. What kind of person have you become? What is your bank account like? Where would you be working? Are you in paid employment or doing business? Which countries have you visited? How many languages do you speak? Where do you live? Paint a vivid picture in your head and take it a step further and write out what you see.
For many you can’t see much because your present circumstances has blocked your vision. Just like a person that is trying to look ahead but there is a veil covering his eyes. Some of these circumstances could be poor health, poverty, a less than superb family background, minimal exposure and the list goes on. The key is to look unto Jesus.
What do you see ?
This might sound like a cliché but nothing can stop us when we look unto Jesus. He would reveal things to us, things that we cannot think of by ourselves. When God gives you a word through his son Jesus Christ, he back it up. Jer 19:11 Explains that God has wonderful plans for us. He wants us to look unto him, situations and circumstances might want to make us settle for a “golf vision” when God has planned a “range rover vision” for us.
In conclusion, what you see (in your mind) would determine what you can attract to your life. In life many situations and circumstances would try to block your ability to see but when we make the Almighty the focus of our life, we would feed fat in times of scarcity. What do you see?
