If you missed the second part of this post,  kindly view it here

So far we have established that life’s challenges are not meant for you to conquer by fighting. The battle has already been won on your behalf you just have to show up to receive the victory that has been designed for you. In the last, post we discussed the belt of truth and explained that in other to win the battle of life we must trust God completely.  In this post, we would be looking at the BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS.

Ephesian 6:14

Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist,

with the breastplate of righteousness in place.

When you have decided to trust God, you must understand that it is no longer about you. The outcome of your life is a function of the grace of God upon you. It is not by your strength that you prevail (1 Sam 2:9). 2 Cor 5:21 explains that we have been made the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. So you need step out knowing that your sins have been taken away and you are now wearing upon yourself the righteousness of Christ.

Please note that the breastplate of righteousness should be worn in place. You can’t afford to wear the breastplate on your head or on your feet. It should be on your chest. Righteousness is entirely by grace not by works. You did not qualify to be called righteous by a number of hours you spent praying or the number of days you spent fasting.  Righteous is by grace and you should guard your heart with it. You should guard your heart with all diligence for out of it flows the affairs of life.   You can’t earn righteousness by works, it is a gift.

Because you are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, you can watch unfavorable circumstances bow.  Philippians 2:10  explains that at the mention of the name of Jesus every knee must bow. Poverty must bow, Sickness must bow, every challenge must bow. But it begins with understanding what you carry.

In conclusion. You must trust God completely. Understand that you are the righteousness of God and as a result, every knee must bow.

In the next post, we would look at the how preaching the gospel would help us overcome the challenges of life.

Stay tuned!
